Are you feeling dissatisfied with the direction of your life and/or the quality of your relationships?
We're in a world connected more than ever but do you feel alone or unsupported?
At A Boat Time Therapy, the goal is to help you to understand, and address those concerns in a way that empowers you to thrive in your life and relationships.
In your Counselling sessions I am there to walk alongside you through your self-discovery and to support you with the areas of your life that need you - perhaps to build self-esteem, perhaps to build self-love, perhaps to build boundaries, or to help you process anger or to sit alongside you in grief.
Understanding anxiety may be part of your process and I can offer ‘tools’ to help you learn to manage in your everyday life.
At a deeper level, if your anxiety is rooted in dysfunctional relationships, the therapeutic relationship serves to heal this dysfunction. Because to heal a problem with relationships, you need to experience a kind, caring and accepting relationship with another.
I believe no one therapy holds all the answers. I use some of the most effective therapy methods available in counselling today including :
I offer one to one counselling, incorporating nature therapy on or alongside a sail boat in Christchurch, nature walk and talk in BH22 , BH23 & BH17 . Due to covid therapy is offerred by telephone and skype calls.
In counselling my role is to create a sense of trust and confidence such that you feel safe and
in which you can express your feelings and gain deeper insight into your difficulties. Sessions are confidential, so you can freely talk without fear of being judged and misunderstood .
The aim is to help you find better ways to understand yourself, or to bring about changes to help you manage the way you think or behave to improve your mental and emotional well-being.
Being a member BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) demonstrates that I meet high standards of proficiency, professionalism and ethical therapy practice. I have regular, ongoing supervision to ensure safe and ethical practice professional liability insurance and hold an up to date DBS certificate.
I will discuss certain issues with you up front before any commitment is made to the sessions including :
* My Counselling approaches (CBT and Humanistic)
* Confidentiality issues
* Fees
* Lengths of sessions
* My responsibility to you
*Your responsibility to me
